This time last year, two fencers represented Truro at the Cadet national championships in Nottingham. This was the first competition that I attended as Head Coach at Truro Fencing Club, so it feels like a great benchmark for how we have progressed as a club over the last season.

This year Truro was represented by eight fencers, with the four girls competing in both the Cadet (U17) and Junior (U20) events.

Cadet Women’s Sabre:

  • Hannah- SILVER
  • Matilda- 14th
  • Tara- 27th
  • Amelia- 31st

Cadet Men’s Sabre:

  • Finlay- 20th
  • Sarang- 25th
  • Arthur 30th

Junior Women’s Sabre:

  • Hannah- 5th
  • Matilda- 17th
  • Tara- 24th
  • Amelia- 25th

Junior Men’s Sabre

  • Henry- 37th

It is great to see that all the hard work put in over the summer is paying off, and I am proud to see plenty of growth in each and every fencer who took part.

For Hannah and Matilda, their strong performances cement their selections to represent Great Britain at the European Cadet Circuit events, the first of which will take place in Istanbul in October.

I would like to thank all the parents for their continued support and commitment.
